Extreme Heat Hair Style

When the sun comes up usually one’s hair follows—and for those with especially long and/or thick hair, the best way to stay cool this summer is to wear your hair high and tight, says Master Hair Stylist & Color Correction Expert Kristine Barone.  Not only does it keep frizz at bay and create an undone style, in extreme heat you’ll be thankful to have a fully exposed neck, she says. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have to put in just a few minutes of effort to make your ponytail more polished: If your hair is on the softer side you may need a light matte-finished pomade along your hairline when brushing back, explains Kristine.  Those with dryer texture could use one with a bit of shine.

Kristine Barone hair design is located inside Salon Blissful (formerly J Salon) at 8378 W. Thunderbird Road, Suite 105, Peoria, Az 85381.  Please call Kristine at 602-323-6881 to set up an appointment for a free consultation.  http://kristinebarone.com

  1. For this look, pin up your hair but leave several strands down so that you get that messy, causal vibe. Drag the elastic a couple of inches downward then wrap the rest of the ponytail up and pin resting on the nape.
